Biography

Madeline Schizas is Canada’s Leading Lady. The two-time Canadian National Champion has been Canada’s top female skater since joining the senior circuit in 2020.

Maddie first started on the ice at the age of three. When she was six years old, her parents took her to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Maddie watched the best in the world, and it was Joannie Rochette’s performance which inspired Maddie’s own skating journey.

Maddie was Canada’s lone female skater at the Beijing Olympics and lifted Team Canada to a 4th place finish in the Team Event. Maddie successfully defended her Canadian title at the 2023 National Championships and has been Canada’s lone representative on the international circuit.

Off the ice, Maddie is a student at McMaster University, plays and teaches piano, and coaches figure skating.
