OTTAWA-BORN KAIYA RUITER ANNOUNCED AS GUEST SKATER AT CANADIAN TIRE CENTRE ON APRIL 28

Fresh off winning her first Canadian National title, 17-year-old Kaiya Ruiter will make another dream come true, this time skating in front of fans in the city where she was born. Stars on Ice is proud to announce Kaiya Ruiter as a guest performer on the 2024 Stars on Ice tour when it visits Ottawa on Sunday, April 28 for a 4:00pm performance at Canadian Tire Centre.

The 2024 Stars on Ice tour, Canada’s premier figure skating show, known for delivering the best in current, future and past figure skating champions, promises to be the best place to experience live performances by many of the reigning World Champions after competing at the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships. Leading the list of contenders will be Canada’s own Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier, two-time World medalists and reigning three-time Canadian Dance Champions.

Joining Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier directly from the World Championships will be 2024 World Champion contender, 2023 World Bronze Medalist and reigning two-time U.S. Champion Ilia Malinin. Additional World Championship competitors appearing on the tour include two-time Canadian Champion and Olympian Madeline Schizas; reigning two-time Canadian Pair Champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek & Maxime Deschamps; and two-time World Medalist and five-time Belgian Champion Loena Hendrickx.

The 2024 Stars on Ice tour will feature performances by some of the most accomplished and iconic names in the sport. The star-studded lineup includes two-time Olympic Silver Medalist, three-time World Champion and seven-time Canadian Champion Elvis Stojko; Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist, three-time World Champion, and ten-time National Champion Patrick Chan; two-time Canadian Champion and Olympian Keegan Messing; and two-time World Medalist and four-time Japanese Champion Satoko Miyahara.

In addition to this season’s tremendous cast, fans will be thrilled to learn that the iconic Kurt Browning, a staple of Stars on Ice since its debut in 1991, is not bidding farewell just yet. While 2023 marked his final year skating in the Stars on Ice tour, Kurt is set to take the reins as the Director and Choreographer of the upcoming production. His intimate connection with the Stars on Ice audience and unparalleled skating expertise will infuse each performance with creativity and charisma, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.
