Biography
Loena Hendrickx is the first Belgian single skater to win a medal at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, and the first from her country to earn a medal since 1948 when she won silver in 2022. She is also the first female skater from Belgium to win a medal at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (Bronze medal at Gran Premio d'Italia, 2021) and to win an ISU Grand Prix event (Grand Prix de France, 2022).
During the 2022-2023 competitive season, Loena was the silver medalist at the European Championships, and the bronze medalist at the World Championships. For the current 2023-24 season, Loena took home the gold medal at Skate America, and was the bronze medalist at the Cup of China Grand Prix event.
Loena’s older brother Jorik competed at the Olympic level in figure skating and is coaching her now. Hendrickx missed the 2019-20 season and the 2019 European Championships due to injury.
